## Ruby China

This is the source code of [Ruby China](http://ruby-china.org) website.

## Requirements

* Ruby 1.9.3
* Memcached 1.4+
* Redis 2.2+
* MongoDb 2.0+
* ImageMagick 6.5+
* libpng

## Install

```bash
git clone git://github.com/ruby-china/ruby-china.git
cd ruby-china
ruby setup.rb
# ensure that memcached has started up
rails s
```

## Start Sidekiq service

```bash
# Sidekiq
# ensure that redis has started up
bundle exec sidekiq -C config/sidekiq.yml
```

## Testing

```bash
bundle exec rspec spec
```

to prepare all the config files and start essential services.

## JavaScript Testing

Start test server using:

```bash
bundle exec rake jasmine
```

By default, jasmine picks port 8888. After the server is started, open the
prompted URL in browser. The port can be changed by setting `JASMINE_PORT`:

```bash
JASMINE_PORT=123456 bundle exec rake jasmine
```

Chrome is used as the default driver, please download proper driver for your
system from <http://code.google.com/p/chromedriver/downloads/list>. Set
environment variable `JASMINE_BROWSER` to use other browsers, e.g., firefox:

```bash
JASMINE_PORT=123456 JASMINE_PORT=firefox bundle exec rake jasmine
```

### Headless Testing

Headless testing should use following command:

```bash
bundle exec rake jasmine:ci
```

On the CI server, Xvfb should be started first. See
<http://blog.shortforgilbert.com/44181761> but install chromium-browser
instead. E.g., for Ubuntu server:

    sudo apt-add-repository ppa:chromium-daily/ppa
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install chromium-browser
